Before departing for Chile, the Resident Director will organize a Skype video chat with incoming students to review the Pre-departure Information Booklet and answer all questions and concerns.
All CASA Chile participants must obtain a student visa before arriving in Chile. Although this process has many components, it is relatively straight-forward as long as students fulfill the necessary steps in a timely fashion. Students should also understand that although representatives from CASA will be available to assist them through the process, they are individually responsible for obtaining their student visa.
After a student is accepted to CASA Chile, the Resident Director will send visa instructions and necessary documents to the student. Students should immediately contact the closest Chilean embassy or consulate to inquire about the student visa application process. Please consult this list of Chilean embassies and consulates to find the one closest to you, as well as the online student visa application. If you are a non-US citizen, please contact your Office of International Programs.

Flights between the US and Santiago can be expensive, so we suggest that students book their flights as soon as possible.
Once paired with a host family, students will contact their families and should share contact information. Upon arrival in Santiago, students will be received by their host families at the airport.
